Pioneertown

A historic Western movie set built in the 1940s by Hollywood investors including Roy Rogers and Gene Autry. Mane Street features preserved Old West facades that have been used in numerous films and television shows. The town remains a functioning community with a post office, saloon, and live music venue.

Looking up inside the Integratron’s wooden dome, the curved ribs and plywood panels radiate toward a circular skylight at the center, where soft pink light glows through the opening. Small rectangular windows along the lower edge add bright accents against the warm, honey-colored wood.

Integratron

A 38-foot-tall dome structure located in Landers, built by aerospace engineer George Van Tassel beginning in 1957, intended as an electrostatic generator for rejuvenation. The all-wood dome was constructed without nails or screws using a technique based on the work of Nikola Tesla. The white dome set against the flat desert landscape creates a surreal photographic subject.
